The Union and management have signed the 2018 Holiday Annex Agreement.
The Omaha Area Local initiated this agreement approximately 17 years ago in order to allow full time regular clerks the option to choose to follow the mail and/or sectional work at the annual holiday annex before such work would be assigned to non-career employees.
The Holiday Annex will be operational from Novembe 1, 2018 through December 23, 2018.
The location for the 2018 Holiday Annex is 4444 South 94th Street, Omaha, NE 68127.
The annex will be staffed with at least one expediter per tour.
The positions available at the annex will be offered by seniority to clerks holding duty assignments in the manual section, by tour. These positions will first be offered by seniority to clerks whose work is being performed at the annex [priority mail]. After all clerks holding priority duty assignments have had the option to work at the annex, the remaining available positions will be offered by seniority to clerks in the manual section, by tour, whose work is not being performed at the annex.
PSEs working at the plant will be allowed to volunteer by standing (seniority), and if there are insufficient volunteers, will be assigned by juniority.
Overtime at the plant and the annex will operate as independent units.
Overtime at the annex will be rotated only with the employees at the annex.
Overtime at the plant will be rotated only with those manual clerks remaining at the plant.
PSEs working over 8 hours will apply separately at each location.
Clerks at the plant and the annex will be worked overtime in each location independently prior to the use of PSEs for more than 8 hours in a service day at the location the PSE is working when they go over 8 hours.
