DO NOT COMPLETE OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY SURVEYS OR QUESTIONNAIRES!
DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE POSTAL PULSE!
DO NOT 'ENGAGE' WITH MANAGEMENT!
IT IS A CONTRACT YEAR!!!!
This is a contract year! It is especially important that every member decline participation in employee surveys and/or questionnaires!
Postal employees are currently receiving Postal Pulse Surveys at work and in the mail.
It all a part of the 'Employee Engagement' plan. Managers are urged to implement the engagement plan. And guess what, management will be entered into a contest and rewarded for 'engaging' their employees.
Omaha APWU members have had enough of being 'engaged' by Omaha management.
We have been 'engaged' with inappropriate conduct, sexual misconduct, harassment and a hostile work environment by managers and supervisors.
We have been 'engaged' with unsafe working conditions - no training, excessive heat, no emergency action plan training, unsafe ergonomic and work practices, filthy work environments and near-fatal work assignments in Omaha facilities.
We have been 'engaged' in contract violation after contract violation, Nation-wide elimination of clerk craft jobs, improper excessing, improper reversions, improper abolishments, short staffing in stations, management performing our work, improper holiday assignments, subcontracting, denied light duty, moving clerks outside their bid jobs on a routine basis, overtime bypass, improper use of PSE(s), cross-craft work assignments, etc...
We have been 'engaged' in prison guard managers and supervisors, who disrespect the employees, new and old, who intimidate and threaten new employees, and who discriminate against employees.
We have been 'engaged' by management cronyism, a management team that protects managers and supervisors that are abusive, engage in sexual misconduct, nepotism, favoritism and are literally found guilty in investigations.
We have been 'engaged' by management that engages in unprofessional and inappropriate conduct on the workroom floor, who use profanity, who demean employees and who have established themselves as disrespectful and unfit for the position.
NATIONWIDE ABUSES
Omaha is NOT alone. Unions across the nation report the same abusive plant environment. This 'cultural change' has taken place after the gutting of small and mid-size plants across American and the resultant abysmal performance in mail delivery. It appears to be an HQ driven directive to do more with less and beat production out of the employees.
The 'Engage the Employee' plan and the 'Postal Pulse' are yet another is a long history of programs designed to cover up the abuses - programs designed to provide plausible deniability and shift the focus away from abusive and unfit supervisors.
Any member who turns in their 'Postal Pulse Survey' and/or a 'Job Review Questionnaire' to the Union will be eligible a fiscal year-end drawing for (5) $100 bills at the September 2018 general membership meeting.
