2016 Septemberfest Labor Day parade
Omaha Area Local
Approximately 65 Omaha Area Local members, family and friends turned out to march with 75 other unions and entries in the 2016 Septemberfest Labor Day parade.
Wearing the new 2016 t-shirt, Omaha Area Local participants carried the huge American Eagle balloon through the parade, marching behind our banner - representing members of the Motor Vehicle - Maintenance - Clerk crafts.
As covered by the Omaha World Herald, the parade was led by Omaha Federation of Labor President Terry Moore with approximately 4,000 other union members, family and friends marching in an impressive showing of solidarity in Omaha, Nebraska!
Omaha Area Local members, family and friends were greeted at the welcome table with the new 2016 t-shirts, doughnuts, juice and mimosas. The Parade Team was provided with candy to toss out to parade spectators.
A shout out to the twenty members, family and friends that showed up early and manned the balloon. The 'balloon team' successfully navigated the magnificent American Eagle during a very windy day.
Special recognition of Omaha Area Local Maintenance Craft Director Sal Iannucci, who made the personal sacrifice of arriving early and staying behind to transport and set up and then break down and secure the welcome table with t-shirts.
