The union and management have signed the 2024 Holiday Annex Agreement.
The 2024 Holiday Annex will be located at the Package Support Annex, 14620 Gold Coast Road, Omaha, NE 68138.
The Omaha Area Local initiated this agreement approximately 22 years ago to allow full-time regular clerks to choose to follow the mail and/or sectional work at the annual holiday annex before such work would be assigned to non-career employees.
The Holiday Annex will be operational from approximately November 30, 2024, through December 27, 2024.
Volunteer sign-up sheets are located at the main plant inside the message center.
The deadline to sign up to work at the annex is November 15, 2024.
Clerks who volunteer and work at the annex:
- Will be allowed to sign up for and work the three-day Christmas holiday period at the plant.
- Will receive out-of-schedule pay for hours worked outside their duty assignment.
- They are expected to work during the peak agreement dates and will not be allowed to switch facilities during this window.

The positions available at the annex will be offered by seniority to clerks holding priority duty assignments in the manual section by tour. After all clerks holding priority duty assignments have had the option to work at the annex, the remaining available positions will be offered by seniority to clerks in the manual section, by tour, whose work is not being performed at the annex.
Plant overtime and the annex overtime will operate as independent units.
Annex overtime will be rotated only with the employees at the annex.
Plant overtime will be rotated only with those manual clerks at the plant.
