2023 Labor Day Parade and Septemberfest

Omaha Area Local to march - all members, friends, and family are encouraged to join!

Septemberfest will run from September 1-4.

Members can purchase Septemberfest ride passes for $20 each for all four days of  Septemberfest. Tickets are available at the union office and the steward room. Requests can be made by emailing omahalocal@yahoo.com or calling the steward room at 402-348-2897 next 3880.

On Monday, September 4, 2023, the Omaha Area Local will be marching in the annual Labor Day parade.

The Omaha Area Local will be wearing 2023 APWU t-shirts.

Parade team: The Omaha Area Local will be marching and proudly displaying our banner.  We will have candy to hand out to the crowd. 

What to wear: Wear your NEW 2023 APWU Union t-shirt.  The Union will be providing these t-shirts for free to all participants. 

What to bring: Wagons, dogs, pull-behind coolers - almost anything you want to march with is OK. 

Event Tent: At 10th and Mike Fahey, the parade ends at the tent where participants can enjoy FREE hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and pop. Beer will cost $3. The Omaha Area Local will hand out wristbands to those participating - one wristband will get an entire family into the post-parade picnic until 1:30 pm.

Starts: 16th Street between California Street and Mike Fahey Street

Ends: 10th and Mike Fahey [approximately 1 mile].

PARADE TEAM MEETING SPOT - WE ARE #13  located at 16th Street between California Street and Mike Fahey Street.

WHEN: The parade team will assemble from 9 am through 10 am for pictures and refreshments. We expect to start marching in the parade around 10:30 a.m. 

The time spent participating in the parade will be approximately 1 1/2 hours.

All members, family, and friends are invited to march in the parade!
